HEALTH AND WELLNESS JOURNAL MARCH 09, 2010
We are in for a real treat with this week's recipe of Roasted Potato Wedges from my daughter-in-law Michele. I will be featuring some of Michele's healthy recipes from her new cookbook coming out soon (Better for You Cooking). A little about Michele; she is an outstanding cook and has been a vegetarian for about 30 years. We are going to learn a lot from her about organic foods, herbs and the more healthy way of cooking. ~Enjoy

HEALTHY SNACK PACK
It's so easy to take this handy snack with you in your lunch or purse. I get the bulk nuts and fruits at Sprouts or Sunflower stores and then mix them myself. For the mixture I used 3 cups almonds and 1 cup each: raisins, cherries, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds and pineapple. You can use any combination you like. Place in the small Ziploc baggies.



HEALTH AND WELLNESS JOURNAL
The cabbage soup recipe along with some of the other soup recipes has been more beneficial to my weight loss than any other foods. My experience has been to eat healthier and along with this comes the weight loss. I don't do very well if I get hungry, so I don't have any size portions..I just eat until I'm full, but try to not over eat. I don't count calories/carbs that some of the popular diets have...I just focus on eating healthy. I try to eat more fresh vegetables and fruits. My mind set and attitude to being healthier is the most important factor for success in all areas of health, wellness and weight-loss.
  • Don't over eat

  • Drink lots of water

  • Avoid sugar

  • Keep whole almonds for snacks on hand (I keep a Ziploc bag in my car)
  • Think "healthier" instead of "dieting" to lose weight.

  • Don't set a certain time limit on reaching your goal - it's a JOURNEY..you will reach your goal!
